Glock n' Spiel

You are incorrect if you imply that raffling off a 2nd gun is the opposite of what I intended, or an upsetting or infuriating response.

My intent in the story was to let people know that the Pima County GOP was acting in an outrageous, offensive and wholly inappropriate manner. That's all.

So in that sense, a second raffle was not my intent, but it's more accurate to say that it's irrelevant to my intent.

Raffling firearms is fine by me. This is America after all.

All the Pima County GOP has done is demonstrate how exceptionally tone-deaf they are.

This isn't about guns. I like guns. I've fired a Glock but I'm a better shot with a revolver. Guns aren't the story.

Knowing that it would be regarded as a tacky and/or thoughtless and/or outrageous move; knowingly referencing the Tucson shootings as a money-making news-breaking gimmick; knowingly biting their thumbs at Congresswoman Giffords by arguably celebrating the same brand of gun used to shoot her...the Pima County GOP went forward with the raffle.

...THAT'S the story. The story is that the Pima County GOP is oblivious and/or thoughtless and/or cruel and/or stupid and/or a bunch of jerks - not just in general, but on a national scale.

As far as guns in general, I wish the Pima County GOP all the best in any future gun raffles. Keep 'em coming.
